Biography and Background

Kathy and her family are Auburn originals. A native of Auburn, Kathy is the daughter of Drs. Conrad and Betty Allen, both long-time professors at Auburn University. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1987 and from AU in 1991, with a B.S. in Family and Child Development. Her husband, Bruce McGehee, was also born and raised in Auburn, and is the grandson of Cliff Hare (of Jordan-Hare Stadium notoriety) and the son of Mr. & Mrs. C.H. "Babe" McGehee (who scored the first touchdown in the stadium in 1939). Kathy and Bruce recently returned to their Auburn roots, with Kathy having made a career change after many years in the field of social work and Bruce finishing a career as a pilot for the United States Air Force.

Kathy is returning to her roots in more ways than just one, however, as she actually began her working career after college as a leasing agent for a real estate company in Greenville, South Carolina. The experience she gained working in real estate before her time in the social work arena planted a professional seed that will now have an opportunity to come to full fruition as she represents BHHS. In addition to her original experience in the real estate field, Kathy and Bruce own rental properties in Auburn, Hoover, and Atlanta. Her experience as a landlord and property owner provide an added dimension of experience that will serve her well as she represents BHHS in business relationships all over the Lee County area.

When she's not pursuing her professional goals, Kathy enjoys refinishing furniture, traveling with Bruce (who is now a captain for JetBlue Airways), spending time with her and Bruce's five sons and daughters, and playing with her Goldendoodle puppy, Parker. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lee County, and she and Bruce attend church at Auburn United Methodist Church, their original church congregation from their childhood.
