Biography and Background

My name is Kaylyn Hinton, and I am a new agent at Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Preferred Real Estate in Auburn, Alabama! I grew up in Florence, Alabama, and graduated from Shoals Christian School in 2018. During high school, I had a passion for photography and interned for photographers at Armosa Studios and Joseph Romans Photography. I attended Highland Baptist Church and was given the privilege of running their youth group’s social media accounts. These opportunities piqued my interest in promotion and outreach, guiding me to my future college major at Auburn University.

After settling in at Auburn, I was given the opportunity to work as a camp counselor for freshman orientation, Camp War Eagle. This position helped me fine tune my presentation skills, and gave me a platform to make a difference in the lives of college freshmen that were eager and excited to move across the country to attend Auburn University. Many housing questions came up during this experience, and it opened my eyes to what I really wanted to do with my life. I decided during the summer of 2020 that I wanted to start a career in real estate, but I was unsure of how to get started. I always knew that I wanted to help people in some capacity, and this job helped me narrow down that I wanted to help them find a home that they love in Auburn, a city I have adored since I was a little girl.

After returning to Auburn’s campus to start my junior year of college, I began to work as a Fitness Specialist at Orangetheory Fitness. Through this job, I learned many different skills, the most important being how to sell something that you are passionate about. Through my time working for Orangetheory, I met many wonderful people who love Auburn as much as I do, and they helped me solidify my decision to stay in Auburn after college graduation. I am currently a senior at Auburn University and will graduate this May with my bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in business from the College of Liberal Arts. One of the requirements to graduate from Auburn with a PR degree is an internship that helps students explore the field of interest prior to graduation.

While at Orangetheory, I met two members of Berkshire Hathaway’s team, Joy Samford, and Emily Whatley, who kindly answered all of my questions about their day-to-day tasks as a realtor and helped me secure an internship with Annie Williams and Ryan Edwards on their team, Real Estate in Auburn. Annie and her team immediately welcomed me with open arms, and I had the opportunity to become her intern in May. This internship could not have come at a better time. While I was studying to pass the real estate exam, I gained valuable hands-on experience during one of the busiest real estate seasons Auburn has ever seen. I passed my real estate exam in October of 2021 and was graciously offered a position at BHHS. The entire staff has been warm and welcoming to me, embracing me as a team member, and helping answer any questions that arise. In my short time here, I have grown both professionally and personally. I am fortunate to be surrounded by a group of people who cares about my own personal growth and success, rather than focusing only on the bottom line. Being the youngest staff member has been intimidating, and at some points discouraging, but Berkshire Hathaway’s staff has been quick to aid me with any help that I need.

While some people may think that my age is holding me back from being successful, I believe the opposite is true. My young age is what sets me apart from everyone else. I have energy, enthusiasm, and, most importantly, grit. My clients receive my full attention, and I work tirelessly to match them with the perfect home. I look forward to demonstrating my work ethic to the Auburn Community. I am so excited and truly blessed to be a member of Berkshire Hathaway’s team and cannot wait to see my career take off here!
