Biography and Background

For over 25 years, David served the State of Alabama and his community as a law enforcement officer. When he was assigned to the Auburn and Opelika area in 2006, he knew that he had found his home and spent the last 10 years of his career working throughout the Lee County area. As trained crisis negotiator and well-trained interviewer, David began to look for ways to use his excellent communication skills outside of his chosen career.

"I spent 25 years working in law enforcement and knew that I wanted to do more in my community,” David says. “During the sale of my home and the purchase of a new one, I observed how much the agents who worked to show me properties and show others my home appeared to love their work. It dawned on me that these Realtors were truly helping people through the exciting and often stressful experience of a home purchase. I realized then that I knew what I wanted to do and that I could retire from my previous career and still continue to help others."

After retiring from the State of Alabama and passing his state real estate exam, David began to look for a place to pursue his new career. "I was working on my resume and left the house to run an errand,” David explains. “I must have driven by seven Berkshire Hathaway signs during my short drive that day. In my head I kept thinking that if this company's brand is so obvious when I am considering the places that I want to interview, then how effective is that brand when a future client is trying to sell or locate a home."

David said that after the interview, his excitement only increased. "It was really great to find a broker, Taylor Britton, and an owner, Stacy Williams Jordan, who spoke about their passion for work in real estate in a manner that only made you want to do the job even more. I told my wife that I left these interviews with the same feelings that I had the first time we walked into our current home. I felt like I had found my home."

Originally from Eufaula, AL, David, his wife Casey, his mother-in-law and two of his four children call Auburn home. The family shares a love of road trips and their 7 year old son has already seen 46 of the lower 48 states by car.
